In late March, 23 industry professionals from Colorado traveled to Washington, D. C. to participate in the National Apartment Association’ s( NAA) Advocate conference. This annual event is a vital opportunity for housing providers across the country to meet with members of Congress and advocate for policies that support the rental housing industry. Our delegation engaged in direct conversations with lawmakers and their staff, educating them on the local impacts of federal legislation and highlighting the importance of preserving affordability, supporting housing development, and minimizing regulatory burdens.
The Colorado attendees made a strong impression on Capitol Hill, emphasizing real-world challenges our industry faces and offering thoughtful, solutions-oriented perspectives. From discussions about housing supply and tax policy to concerns about burdensome federal mandates, our team showcased the professionalism and passion of Colorado’ s multifamily housing community. We are proud of the relationships we strengthened and the critical issues we advanced during this trip— and we remain committed to ensuring our voice is heard at every level of government. www. aamdhq. org 7 | TRENDS MAY 2025
