Villager liaison. In addition to monthly columns, articles showcasing the lives of residents and local businesses are also featured in The Villager. Each month, there is a cover story and feature article based on events, amenities, new local businesses and other pertinent news.
Charbonneau’ s website( www. charbonneaucountryclub. com) is currently being updated, improved and made more user friendly. Recently, a video was added to the Home Page featuring the best of Charbonneau. Soon, there will be second-tier pages for amenities, activities, community, safety, Villager, events and golf. Nancy Browning, committee member, is our website coordinator working closely with staff member Brooke Dickinson.
Currently, the Committee is working on a Strategic Plan that will guide its work, priorities and actions over the next two years. Larry Walker

QuikPolls are a new feature of Charbonneau communications. These periodic, short surveys delivered via emails will solicit ideas, comments and concerns from the residents on a variety of communication-related topics. The Communication Committee will share the responses with the Board of Directors and staff and use the ideas to structure the Strategic Plan. Larry Walker and Nancy Browning are the committee’ s leads on the QuikPolls.
Tom Kells produces an activity column each month for the Villager, and he represents the Communications Committee at various events / activities. He works with Brooke Dickinson and Lindy Anderson to gather timely activity information to share with residents.
John McLain is the newest member of our committee. He brings

considerable experience living and volunteering in Charbonneau. John works on consistent messaging and design for Charbonneau printed materials and communications. He also writes articles for the Villager and helps with strategic planning.
Fireside Chats occur over the winter and are opportunities for residents to ask questions, voice their concerns and contribute to problem solving. Fireside Chats are held in November, December, January and February in the Fireplace Room in the Clubhouse.
The Committee meets monthly on the last Tuesday of the month from 10:30 a. m. to noon. We are looking for additional members. Please contact Alice Galloway at alice @ charbonneaucountryclub. com if you are interested in volunteering or if you have questions, ideas or concerns about the flow of information in Charbonneau.

The Villager is introducing a monthly list of activities that can improve you fitness, health and well-being. We are also highlighting one class or instructor each issue. This month, we are featuring the upcoming class Return to Center.
This small cohort-based course will be held at 10:30 a. m. on Wednesdays from April 30 to June 18 in the Activity Center’ s Clark Room. The course fee is $ 250 and the class is limited to eight people. Foundational concepts of somatics, meditation and mindfulness are taught, practiced and deepened. Breath work, de-armoring, and centering are emphasized. The focus is on pragmatic practices to help centered presence in challenging times. Learn about conditioned tendencies and how to cultivate more choice and less reactivity in daily life in the face of pressure and destabilizing conditions. A stable cohort allows for personalized application and peer support. The course starts April 30, but we may take new students who begin by May 7 if space is available when this paper comes out. Contact Dana at dbrenkel @ gmail. com for more info. Dana is a certified somatic coach and body worker( Strozzi Institute) and has taught meditation and mindfulness for 25 years.
