LETTER FROM THE ASSISTANT GOLF PRO
I would like to start off by thanking all our members and their guests that participated in the 2021 Member-Guest tournament this year . We had a great turn out and it looked like everyone enjoyed themselves . Congratulations to Kyle Thomas and Greg Ellis on their victory . Also , congratulations to everyone that won their flight and participated in the shootout . I hope everyone enjoyed the tournament as much as we did , can ’ t wait till next year ’ s event .
With summer fast approaching , Junior Camps are sneaking up on us . Sign-ups for junior camps will be available starting on May 15 . You can contact myself or the Pro Shop to register for one of our three-day camps . Jason Stone and I always enjoy these camps and look forward to helping your juniors learn golf fundamentals while making it fun for all ages of juniors .
Here is a little golf tip that is often overlooked and rarely thought of . One of the biggest issues most people have is TENSION , gripping the club too tight , trying to hit the ball too hard , etc . When you create tension or grip your club too tight , this causes your muscles to get short . We need our muscles to stay loose which allows them to stay long and flexible . This issue really shows itself when we are chipping , practice swinging the club with soft arms and a loose grip to help build muscle memory . This drill will feel a little weird at first but once you learn how to control the club while staying loose , you will be amazed at the results . If you don ’ t fully understand this drill or would like more information , please feel free to stop by the Pro Shop and I will be glad to explain .
Have a wonderful day ,
