Ten years ago this month , photographer James Jones [ Snapshot ] was documenting the wreckage of the Japanese tsunami and it made him contemplate what it takes to survive disaster . “ This past year , while isolated physically , I ’ ve held everyone in my heart a bit closer ,” he says . “ I would never have spent every waking hour of a year with my son and wife were it not for COVID . Capturing stories of life and change , declarations and renunciations is a gift for the history lover in me .”
