It has been a year of growth , giving back and milestones for University Orthopedics
GROWTH Already one of the largest and most comprehensive orthopedic practices in the region , UOI is now offering its world-class care in Massachusetts with its new , state-of-the-art orthopedic office in Mansfield . Opened in February , the facility offers physical therapy ; hand therapy ; sports medicine ; pediatric orthopedics ; back and neck ; hip and knee ; shoulder and elbow ; foot and ankle ; spine ; and interventional pain management .
The new Mansfield office - located at 10 Reservoir Street - is also home to another OrthoDirect location , which offers same- and next-day appointments for acute orthopedic needs . Just a few weeks after the Mansfield OrthoDirect came online , UOI celebrated the opening of its new OrthoDirect location at 1598 South County Trail , which is the same building as UOI ’ s East Greenwich office .
UOI ’ s growth is continuing this year . The practice recently announced a new partnership with the Orthopedic Care Physician Network ( OCPN ). Effective July 1 , 2021 , the UOI family will include thirteen total locations across Massachusetts and Rhode Island and nearly 650 employees , including more than sixty physicians , forty-five advanced practice providers , fifty therapists , and numerous residents and fellows .
As the result of its recent expansion , UOI is poised to even better serve the community . In fact , UOI announced multi-year partnerships with both the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association ( MIAA ) and the Eastern Connecticut Conference . Through these partnerships , University Orthopedics will provide video content related to safe training methods , recovery and other orthopedic health measures .
