Online registration of vehicles in Puducherry

All activities of vehicle registration including fitness certificates , collection of taxes , permits , hypothecation and transfer of documents linked to a centralised server . SMS alerts will be sent to the applicant at every stage . The Transport Department has launched the online registration of vehicles registration , permit , taxation , enforcement in the whole country .
Bhamashah Techno Hub in Jaipur ownership and enforcement will now be completely computerised with the Transport Department rolling out the Vahan 4.0 software . Puducherry is the first State in the South to make the Vahan portal functional in all the Regional Transport Offices at Oulgaret , Mahe , Yanam , Karaikal and Puducherry . At present , all registration procedures are being done manually and dealers have to visit the RTO which is time consuming . Now they can submit the application for the registration online and pay the fees and taxes through e-payment . The UT has now fully been enabled with Vahan 4.0 software with e-payments of taxes , fees , uploading of all scanned at Kattukuppam , Thirubhuvanai , Oulgaret , Mahe , Yanam , Karaikal and Puducherry . This will facilitate the department to interconnect as far as every purpose of registration is concerned . The software is tailor-made for the RTOs and new services including renewal of taxes , permits and license for the public will be rolled out in a phased manner .
