COMMUNITY Big changes for Mainstreet Shelbyville include new farmers market location I t’s Spring time which only means that Mainstreet Shelbyville’s event season is right around the corner! We are looking forward to a fun filled and productive season in downtown Shelbyville. Our season will be packed with excitement and lots of attendees. We have our Shelby County Farmers Market (May- October), Wine Walk (June 15), Riverfront Ducky Derby (August 18) and our BBQ & BREW Fest (September 22). We are excited to welcome all the visitors to historic downtown Shelbyville and are looking forward to these successful events! Have your heard? The Shelby County Farmers Market has a new location beginning this season! We are moving to the West Washington Street Community Plaza (formerly Major Hospital parking lot) to offer a new, exciting and safe venue for our customers and vendors. The space will Mainstreet Shelbyville 18 North Harrison Street Shelbyville, IN 46176 (317) 398-9552 get new pavement, signage and beautiful landscaping with the installation of a Japanese garden. We are very excited about the relocation and what potential the space offers not only our market but the entire community. We open our chamberchatter season on May 19 and it will run through October 6. Our hours will continue to be 8:00 am- 12:00 pm. Join us at our new home this season while we welcome new faces and get reacquainted with familiar ones. Meet us at the market! Please contact us at 317-398-9552 with any questions or inquires about becoming a vendor. Wine Walk 2018 On June 15, downtown Shelbyville welcomes the 4th annual Wine Walk. This year’s event has everything that you have loved in years past with a few new additions to make it even more fun! Mainstreet and local businesses welcome 11 Indiana Wineries to our historic downtown this year, plus the addition of a free concert to “wine down” the evening. Join us as you meander throughout downtown and visit local businesses that are hosting local wineries. You will have an evening full of wine, music and food as you Sip, Stroll, and Shop your way through the evening. The Wine Walk will run from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m., with our “Wine Down” concert on West Washington Street in front of city hall playing from 9:00 – 11:00 p.m. The concert will offer a beer and wine garden for those attending. The concert will feature a talented local band, Blue Ridge Banned, and is sure to be lots of fun. Please check out Eventbrite.com for event details and online tickets. Locally tickets will be available in May at the Mainstreet office, Lemon Lane Boutique, Three Sisters Books and Gifts, Elegant L and Pink Poppy Boutique. See you downtown! Mark your calendars... As the event season rolls on we have two very exciting events to offer everyone. May 2018 We will hold our 2nd annual Riverfront Ducky Derby on August 18. The adventurous rubber duck race down the Blue River offers participants a chance to win cash prizes for the top finishers! The race this year will offer more races, different price levels, great entertainment, food and more. Save the date, more details to follow! In September, we will close out our event season with the ever-popular BBQ & Brew Fest! This great evening combines the love of BBQ & Brew for one great night out on the town. We partner with Shelby County Tourism to bring you this fall extravaga nza of good food, brew and music. This year’s entertainment will be provided by Zanna-doo and we can’t wait! The BBQ & Brew Fest will take place on September 22 from 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. We will post more information as it becomes available. As you can see the events just keep getting better and better.
