CANAAN , Vt .– Richard D . Latendresse , 70 , of Canaan , passed away on Tuesday , May 16 , 2017 , at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook after a months-long and courageous battle with cancer .
He was born in Sherbrooke , Que ., on Oct . 19 , 1946 , a son to Herve Latendresse and Marie Luce Megre . He grew up in La Patrie , Que .
For most of his professional career , he was a self-employed truck driver and lumberjack . In 1989 , he and his wife purchased Maurice ’ s Motel in Canaan , and they later also owned and operated the Northland Restaurant ,
