LAWRENCE RESDEN DALTON–Lawrence (Larry) Resden 73 of Dalton died peacefully on April 24, 2016 after a month long illness at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Born on July 22, 1942 in Littleton to Lawrence and Reta Resden of Gilman, Vt., Larry lived his early years in Gilman before moving to Littleton at the age of 23 and remaining there until moving to Dalton five years ago. Larry worked at Connors and Hoffman shoe shop in Littleton for many years then after its closing, worked at Connors Foot Ware in Lisbon and finishing out his working career at Burndy FCI in the Littleton Industrial park. He liked animals of all types and treated all the neighbors dogs to a treat when they wandered by his door. He loved his family and enjoyed interaction with them and also with friends and trips to “the club” (the American Legion) where he was a strong supporter. He liked fishing and all forms of sports, auto racing whether NASCAR or amateurs at Riverside Raceway, the Patriots in Boston for sure, the Celtics and Bruins but most of all a lifelong Red Sox fan who could tell you the scores and batting averages of the Red Sox players going back many years. He was predeceased by both parents. He is survived by his daughters Jenny Resden and Lisa Champagne, her husband Frank and eight grandchildren Shaina, Ariel, Forrest, Tyrone, Tristan, Kiania, Justin, and Michael as well as two great granddaughters. Also by a brother Ron Resden of Guildhall Vt., nephew Philip, niece Alison and two great nephews of Philadelphia Penn. Known as “Pa” to his grandchildren his feisty personality will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. There will be no calling hours or funeral at Larry’s request and he wishes all of his friends to have an extra drink of their choice in his memory. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Legion Post at 2400 St. Johnsbury Rd. in Littleton NH. 03561. 603-444-4802. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
