Are there any other ways The Bucket Company tries to be a “people company?” Here at The Bucket Company, we care about community and firmly believe in giving back. We proudly donate a part our profits from our limited-edition planters to their respective cancer patients, war veterans, and children with autism. For example, the Pink Bucket represents cancer awareness, the Sand Bucket is for the wounded warriors, and lastly, the Baby Blue Bucket stems from autism. What are some of your proudest moments? I would have to say the look that the real growers give you when they see the product for the first time in person. When they realize how many problems that they have been dealing with for years have finally been addressed with our product. That validation is always our proudest moment. A product that can be used universally with every growing option. By far the best designed and crafted product, proudly made in and assembled in the USA. What significant things have you learned so far about the industry? We’ve learned that there are a lot of people willing to help but even more people that need help. We should always work together to make our growing industry as mainstream and easily accessible as possible. How many people now work for the company? Twelve, not including our factory. What makes your employees so awesome? We are all dedicated towards the same goal and we all work very closely together. Our trips are filled with laughter and good times, as we get to showcase our product to consumers across the world. Our company trip to Canada. I would say that trip solidified our position in the industry and gave us the most brand exposure. We met with many distributors and consumers that shared excitement about our product, all the while giving us essential feedback. We had a small team travel from Ohio to Canada to Michigan — all in a 12-passenger van. Needless to say, that trip is definitely the most memorable as of yet. What words of wisdom can you share about the business, the industry, or the future of the industry? If you truly want to succeed, work hard and listen to your peers. You don’t have that many opportunities, so take advantage of what you have and do your homework before any meetings to understand the person in front of you. We went through many prototypes, manufacturing companies, etc. But when you find the right one, you will know. We also have adopted an important motto: “In business, if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.”
