W12 Week Twelve The structural growth of these plants is absolutely phenomenal. All of the internodes stretch outward under the radiant flowering lamp creating tree like canopies for the robust annuals. Each site capable of holding fruit has several pre-flowers at all times summing up to probably 1000 flowers between the five plants. Inside the aeroponic chamber everything remains stable and healthy. The roots do not possess any brown rot spots indicating that the enzyme formulations and beneficial bacteria colonies are surely doing their part to keep the root zone sterile and clear of detrimental bacteria and virus. The soil plants are sturdier and stronger than ever as they refuse to show signs of weakness or nutrient burn. Even the occasional drought that hits them seems to boost the metabolic production rates as they gulp down gallons of water without any signs of stress. Both sides are still receiving the seaweed derivative base bloom, guano enhanced compost tea, added calcium and supplemental carbohydrates fortified with an array of L-amino acids. To keep all gardening practices as eco-positive, natural and organic as possible, there will not be any utilization of chemical additives or harsh pesticides on the experiment garden. Hopefully the immunity and strong cell structure of the plants will provide enough support and protection for any surprise attacks that could erupt in the future. Intermittent flushing of the soil and aeroponic reservoir has ensured cleanliness among the rhizosphere, which is crucial to avoid contributing to pythium and other negative bacterial dilemmas. It especially helps to flush all hydroponic components weekly until the run-off water bleeds clear without any residual debris. The soil plant shown here in week 12 is sturdier and stronger than ever. MAXIMUM YIELD USA - March 2009 57
