Blasting is when a hydrocarbon solvent is forced through the plant material to extract the targeted components . The solvent flows across the plant material taking the active chemical components with it . Due to the flammable nature of this process , it ’ s a dangerous method of extraction . The name derives from blasting the butane through the plant ( or because of the explosive potential of the process .)

Unlike the dangerous blasting method , ice hash could be a fun way to make your own flavorful cannabis concentrates . Since there are no solvents , and there is no potential for an explosion , it ’ s safe to DIY . Even though the process can require more time , at least you won ’ t worry about starting a fire . Meanwhile , ice hash is made by either filling washing machines or buckets with ice and water to freeze and break away the trichomes . Another name for ice hash is bubble hash and “ bubble bags “ can be part of the process .
