Many Americans Favor Weed over Booze
More Americans think it ’ d be good if people switched to marijuana and drank less booze , according to a new poll . When recently asked in the YouGov survey , 27 percent agreed it would be ideal if people used more cannabis instead of alochol , whereas 20 percent said that would be a bad idea . However , most respondents ( 38 percent ) said it would be neither good nor bad . While there ’ s been ample discussion about the pros and cons of alcohol versus cannabis , cannabis advocates have been quick to point out liquor is strongly associated with long-term health issues and people can die from alcohol poisoning . There are no recorded deaths attributed solely to a marijuana overdose ( by the federal government ’ s own admission ) and the plant ’ s compounds have been shown to be medically beneficial for several health conditions . People aged 30-44 were the most likely to say cannabis substitution would be good ( 34 percent ), whereas just 17 percent of those 65 and older said the same .
Cannabis Culture Docuseries Launches
As more states continue to legalize , the desire and need to create cannabis-centric content that destigmatizes the plant increases . First Michigan Weed Consumption Lounge Opens
Hot Box Social , Michigan ’ s first licensed consumption lounge , is now open for private events . The lounge , located in Hazel Park , features a relaxed gathering space for meetings and special events where cannabis can be consumed in a safe and supportive environment . Capacity is approximately 200 people for private indoor events . The plan is to open the 3,000-square foot indoor lounge to private events first , and to the public later in 2022 . The 5,000-square-foot back patio will also be available later in the summer . Owned by Trucenta , which also operates the awardwinning Breeze recreational provisioning center in Hazel Park , Hot Box Social will eventually feature both indoor and outdoor spaces . As a licensed consumption lounge , cannabis products must be delivered from a licensed dispensary and used onsite . Cannabis experts will be available to help guests understand how to make an informed decision on the best product for them to consume .
