THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE The next head of Maumee Valley Country Day School: MUST HAVE ● A warm, compassionate, and outgoing personality and a natural ease in building community among all stakeholders ○ High visibility in the school ○ A desire to know each student ○ A sense of humor ○ Unbridled curiosity, relentless optimism, and boundless energy ● The ability to think strategically and plan for what’s next by building upon the progressive roots and educational philosophy of the school ● The ability to attract, retain, and motivate a highly talented team and to delegate and trust his/her faculty and administration ● Interest in fundraising and ability to develop relationships to support annual fundraising goals including endowment and capital needs ● A proven leader with inspirational qualities and excellent communication skills, both oral and written ● Proven success with and affinity for a diverse population ● Strong administrative experience SHOULD HAVE ● Ease and expertise in financial management ● Independent school experience ● Ease in engaging with international students and families and willingness to travel abroad to extend the Maumee Valley community to our international families ● A desire to engage with the Toledo and NW Ohio community ● An advanced degree MIGHT HAVE ● Worked in the Midwest or in an ISACS school ● Been a head of school APPLICATION PROCESS Interested candidates should be prepared to submit a cover letter, resume, personal statement, and list of references in one PDF.
