Arf won the İnönü Gift ( 1943 ) and the TÜBİTAK Science Award ( 1974 ). In his speech while receiving this award , he explained the scientist by himself with the words ' The aim of the scientist is to understand ' immediately after ' but to understand with capital letters '. An international symposium on algebra and number theory in honor of its honor was held in Silivri between September 3-7 in 1990 . The first conferences on rings and geometry were held in Istanbul in 1984 . Arf presented an article about geometry concept in mathematics . Cahit Arf passed away in December 1997 due to a severe heart disease .
