What We Have Lost

by Steve Rees, Ret. RN, Harpist

It is very interesting that the CDC and other governmental agencies are now quietly admitting that they were lying to us all along about the pandemic and all the “recommendations” they placed upon us over the past 2 ½ years. As I heard and read announcements from various agencies, I began to think back on all the experiences that I had, plus the experiences of those I knew and loved.

In considering these “Mia culpa” announcements, I ask, “Who is going to answer for these drastic mistakes and outright lies?” Is there going to be any accountability? What have we lost that we may never be able to gain back?

One of the clear losses is the trust we had in the agencies that were supposed to act in the public’s best interest. The FDA was established to guard against harmful substances being introduced into our marketplaces. The CDC was supposed to give us the best advice based on scientific studies — to guide us in navigating serious diseases that could spread rapidly if not dealt with in a scientific manner.

A very serious loss of trust came about when doctors and hospital systems sold out to pharmaceutical companies, then required their employees to take the jab or lose their job. Even when best practice and research showed over and over that natural immunity is much more superior to induced immunity with an inoculation.

Government agencies and the medical systems have done so much in such a short period of time to erode public trust. How long will it take to restore the trust that has been in place for much of our history? Can it ever be restored? The loss of public trust is truly at historic levels, and the future looks very uncertain as we continue to see the doubling down on policies that have clearly been misguided.

Throughout this whole experience, a high percentage of the public was sleepwalking, but more people are waking up. They are seeing the lies and paying attention to the studies that are being published. More are deciding that even though they may have taken the first series of jabs, they are not going to take any more. Staunch supporters of the jab are now advising caution and some countries have even stopped use of them.

I personally know many people who lost their jobs and are now unemployed or under-employed. My own son lost his position in Australia because he would not take the jab. These losses went on to account for many people losing their homes. Filing for bankruptcy was the last resort that many were forced into. Some were forced to sell their homes to stay afloat financially, while others were forced to sell prized positions so that they could meet their financial demands. Many people had to use their credit cards to stretch their bottom line.

A large number of businesses closed because of the overbearing restrictions that prevented a sufficient amount of traffic or customers to survive. Plus, the arbitrary, non-scientific, 6-foot rule of separation did not allow many restaurants to serve enough customers to be able to turn a profit. At the same time, business boomed for the big box stores because of the stay-at-home orders.  Thus, people were only able to get supplies by ordering them online. This shift caused many small businesses to close their doors permanently.   With small businesses being the backbone of most economies, it is unlikely these economies will recover.
