INTRODUCTION

 

During the past few decades, a healthy diet has been empirically recommended as a requisite to reduce cancer risk and improve cancer treatment. An increasing number of published reports, studies articles have provided serious information about the value of certain foods that have demonstrated efficacy to decrease the risk of cancer. For too long we have forgotten what food means and why it is so important to eat wholesome food in its natural state rather than industrial or processed food.

 

Remember Hippocrates, the outstanding Greek Physician known as the “Father of Medicine,” who 2,500 years ago is credited with saying, “Let thy food be your medicine and medicine thy food.”

 

Now, more than ever we know the importance of Hippocrates teachings. Simply think about why we have a necessity to eat food?

 

Food grown on earth is for the unique purpose to nourish humans and animals for survival. These necessary substances, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, antioxidants, etc., perform thousands of vital chemical processes that regulate all the biological and physiological functions, including the brain, every minute and day of our life.  This maintains a state in which we call for harmony and health in the mind and body.

 

But what does health mean? Most medical doctors know more about the nature of diseases, but seem ignorant about the meaning of health.  Thus, they don’t know what to do to keep you healthy, or worse, how to recover health status if you suffer from a disease.

Pharmaceutical drugs, by no means, can keep you healthy, but can good natural food? The answer is yes. A medical doctor can treat with drugs or even with supplementation, but remember, it’s Nature that heals with the right condition. This is what we have learned from the work of Hippocrates, and of course, from Naturopathic Medicine.

But today this knowledge has been mostly forgotten and nature is replaced by toxic drugs, which at the same time are responsible for side effects, often with severe consequences.

Just remember wholesome (natural), organic food is the healer and maintainer of good health. Today science has discovered that natural Food can even repair tissue and protect your DNA. Natural food can modify your gene function can keep you healthy but never with chemical drugs.

Remember that protecting your DNA is critical if you want to be healthy. People may think that over the years and during their lifetime they have the same intestine, the same stomach, the same lungs, the same heart, or the same red cells, but this not the case.

They all can regenerate and renew. Just as an example your small intestine regenerates every two to four days, your stomach and lungs every eight days, the red blood cells every four months.
