What was the first beer made by Brasserie C?
"The first beer of the brewery was Curtius C. This beer was brewed in François’s garage. Seeing the good reactions of our families and friends we had to think of a bigger plan than just home brewing .We were the only two brewers in the early years of the brasserie C. With success we eventually had to hire more staff for the production."
What was the biggest difficulty for Brasserie C when building the brand?
"The concept of Brasserie C was the result of years of home brewing between two friends. We started all this without even thinking of a brewery. But after the first product success we started realizing how big this could turn into . "
From a market entry point of view, do you think that would be harder to penetrate the market now than it was back in 2012?
"Yes, definitely. In 2012 the rising of craft breweries wasn’t as big as it is nowadays. Especially in Liège, we had the chance to start this business when there weren’t a lot of microbreweries around, specifically in the city center. We seized this opportunity to build something traditional yet innovative."
Were you inspired by anyone when building the brand?
"Of course, we live in a country where amazing breweries made history. We always looked up to the ones who turned Belgian beers into traditions."
