Sicilian wine is an old-aged tradition. The tradition dates back to the 1100’s. All over the Sicily region which includes Messina there are many versions of wine widespread. Sicily has the most vineyards in any Italian region. Many grapes across the region prosper in warm and humid air. Mainly in coastal areas to the west. A famous selection of wine in the Sicilian region is Catarratto. It is a nice tasting Italian white wine. The grape is primarily planted in the southern region. Although it is mainly planted in the southern region of Italy, it is one of Italy's finest wines. Catarratto is often used in the mixing of wines. It is also used in the production of Marsala wine and other wine concentrates.
