mASc Young Authors and Illustrators Festival The MASC Young Authors and Illustrators Festival turns 27 this year! This popular annual event will be held at Canada Aviation and Space Museum on April 17, 18 and 19, 2018. Students in grades four to eight are invited to sign up for an exciting day of literary activities, working with some of Canada’s finest children’s authors and book illustrators. The day is packed with activities guaranteed to get the creative juices flowing: author readings, hands-on workshops, a book fair, book signings and more. MASC is proud to present the stellar line-up of authors and illustrators who will travel to Ottawa this spring for the 2018 festival. All are professionally published, with an impressive list of literary awards and recognitions. Find out first-hand why this event continues to attract over 600 budding authors and illustrators each year! www.masconline.ca>Events>Young Authors Illustrators Festival Thanks to Eagle Professional Resources, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and the Canada Council for the Arts for their ongoing support and commitment to this program. Student feedback abounds with unbridled enthusiasm each year. Here is what one student had to say about her experience at the festival last year: “I’m only a 12-year-old girl who’s aspiring to be an author someday, but being here today and for the past 3 years, I feel like a bestseller! I hope that the yearly MASC Authors and Illustrators Conference goes on forever and inspires young authors and illustrators just like me.” Event Sponsor: And from author, Wesley King (Festiv al 2017): “I was beyond impressed with the enthusiasm and talent of the students in my workshops... I probably left more inspired than they were. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find a wave of writers in the future with this experience on their CV.” 9
