Modern Clowns Meet the Auguste or the White
Clown that lie dormant within you and create your
own clown piece.
Materials: Clown noses $2 + HST per student.
Commedia Dell'Arte This lively and popular art
form mixes improvisation, pantomime and mask.
A good initiation to stage, voice and gesture work
using traditional character masks: Harlequin,
Pantaloon, Doctor, Captain and Tartaglia.
Character building Participants learn the essential
components of dramatic play; they explore the inner
qualities and external aspects of building a character.
Theatre and Song Discover the resonant areas of
the human voice, and investigate breathing, acting,
rhythm and speech; the basis of a singing character.
Puppets in Action An introduction to puppetry by
learning the basic techniques of manipulation.
Apprentice puppeteers are called upon to
discover or perfect their skills through
physical and voice exercises, as well as using
their own creativity to bring puppets to life.
