Where
MASC partners with many organizations, offering workshops and
performances in the Ottawa-Gatineau region but reaching as far as
Cornwall, Pembroke, Kinston and Chelsea.
Schools
MASC worked with, 266 schools, across 14 school boards, arranging
178 bookings in French schools and 313 in English schools
Community
MASC is very involved in the community through our Seniors Program,
Awesome Arts and through partnerships with many arts and community
organizations. Over 329 programs were booked in 53 venues serving
seniors and in more than 100 other community venues.
Arts Community
CPAMO Ottawa Network MASC co-chaired a local network with Arts
Network Ottawa that is associated with the Cultural Pluralism for the Arts
Movement Ontario. With support from the Ontario Arts Council and led by
Alicia Borisonik, MASC was involved in the delivery of programming and
opportunities for refugee and immigrant artists.
Canadian Network for Arts & Learning Conference MASC was pleased to
work in partnership with the Canadian Network for Arts & Learning in
planning their 2017 conference held in Ottawa. CNAL, who is affiliated
with UNESCO, is positioned to be a national voice working on behalf of and
in support of all artist and learning organizations and the communities
they serve. The conference offered engaging keynote speeches, panel
discussions, breakout groups, artist installations and artist performances
by five MASC artists, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the
arts and the opportunity to discuss key issues and network with partners.
National Roundtable on Teacher Education and the Arts (NRTEA)
Participating for the 7th year, MASC served on the Steering Committee for
the NRTEA. This Roundtable is focused on developing best practices for
pre-service and in-service teacher education and professional development.
In light of MASC’s recent International award, MASC was
asked to present our Awesome Arts program at this Canada-
wide, invitational event.
