MWC: Any heroes? Role models?

Bobby: All living and deceased military vets are heros to me.

MWC: What got you started hunting?

Bobby: My dad started to take my brother and I goose and duck hunting when we were 6 or so, that’s when I was hooked on the family and friends hunting.

MWC: Do you have any favorite memories or kills that stand out?

Bobby: There are a lot of goose and duck hunts, too many to mention, but my first whitetail was a nice 7 point that dressed 206. It was the first day of deer season and I was with my dad, and he had never hunted deer so I was learning something every minute. He got cold around 9:00 and went to the truck. Around 10:45 I had 2 bucks and 2 does walk right up behind me in the marsh at ten yards. I couldn’t turn my gun around properly to shoot a good shot, but I let one go and one buck and 2 does kept going, and the other buck ran back. Well, 15 minutes later, it walked out in front of me at 40 yards and one shot put him on the ground. I’ll never forget that. Been hooked ever since.

MWC: Do you remember your first deer?

Bobby: You just read that. I didn’t scan all the questions. (laughs)

MWC: Can you tell us a bit about your preferred hunting combo?

Bobby: Right now it's my Hoyt Maxis and I love it.

MWC: What is the one piece of advice you would give a new hunter to aid him on his hunting ventures?

Bobby: Find a seasoned hunter and pick his brain. I read a lot of magazines, etc. myself. There's a lot a young hunter can learn right here.

MWC: What is your favorite animal to hunt?

Bobby: All of them, though whitetails might have an edge.

MWC: Does any member of your family hunt or fish?

Bobby: Yes, pretty much everyone. I see a lot more fishing in our future since I just bought a 48 ft. work / charter boat.

MWC: Do you have any hunting goals or plans for the immediate future?

Bobby: Got to go back to New Brunswick up in Canada to go bear hunting with George. The man knows his stuff.
