1. You have a busy day and missed your early morning gym sesh for that extra 10 minutes in your bed. You’ll have just enough time to work out after work but you have a date at 7 clock with a cute guy you met at a coffee shop and you get off work at 5. Do you?

Buy them anyway. They are way too cute to pass up and a must have for my closet.

Go to the gym and work your butt off to shed that burger you ate for lunch today. If you are late to meeting with your guy, tell him you had to work out and hope he loves the enthusiasm.

Go to the gym and just do cardio. You know you will feel better in the end.

Skip the gym and try a new, sexy hairdo you saw on Pinterest and rock your date.

Order the soup and sandwich option. It is filling but not too much food so I will be satisfied.

2. You are out on a second date with the guy you have recently been seeing. You had to skip lunch today to catch up with all those work files that have been piling on your desk and you are starving. Do you?

Order the steak sandwich with fries that you have been eying since you opened the menu, practically drooling over the words “fried onions”.

Buy them but then return them the next day to pay that bill you should have 4 days ago.

Order a gourmet salad with some fruit and chicken in it. It’s not what I want, but hey, it’s healthy.

3. At the mall you notice a pair of shoes that you have been dying to own on sale, but regardless of the sale you know you don’t have the money for it. Do you?

Don’t buy them and use the money you were going to spend on the shoes to put towards your bills and wait for the next time they go on sale again.

You may think you are healthy all around, but there are aspects that say otherwise. Instead of saving money, you’d rather spend every last dime keeping up with the latest trend; instead of going to the gym you’d rather spend your time looking good for a guy and instead of doing what you want to do, you tend to tweak your identity to share an untrue persona. Like reality TV stars you impress with a less then authentic self but there is more to you than this scripted woman.

You go girl. You are as healthy as can be when it comes to doing you. You know how to spend money wisely, treat your body like a temple for yourself and order whatever you want on that menu, despite what a guy might think. You aren’t afraid to step away from the impressing façade women mask themselves with every day and just do you. You shape your own feminine ideal and don’t, as Freud has said, passively absorb it as it is portrayed in the media (Hollows 13).

You kind of know what you are doing but with a little push you could a lot healthier. You are the person who goes with the safe bet: half of what you want to do and half of what you think you should do. You don’t get what you want to eat on a date but you don’t order the salad to impress him and you buy the shoes but then return them to the do the right thing but hitting the gym still isn’t fully to benefit you. Take a chance next time and do something completely for you, you’ll find yourself enjoying it more than you think.
