Martensville Library Summer Fun Scavenger Hunt
Have fun as a family this summer and work together to complete at least 10 of our
summer fun scavenger hunt activities to have your family entered into our grand prize
draws. Complete your chosen activities and bring this list into the library to receive
your entry form by Saturday, August 27th. One entry/family. Draw date: August 29th.

Summer Fun Scavenger Hunt Activities
Spend at least 30 minutes reading outside at a local park or playground.
Build a fort, either inside or outside, and eat a family snack inside your fort.
Enjoy an audiobook in your car on a family road trip.
Have a family water fight in your backyard.
Take a trip to a place or attend an event that you have never been to before.
Plant a garden/flowers/tree.
Cook a family meal together.
Spend an evening outside looking at the stars and constellations.
Fly a kite, play Frisbee, or play on the playground of a local community park.
Visit a farmer’s market.
Spend the day at the beach or lake to enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, etc.
Find a book at the library and read it as a family throughout the summer.
Create a work of art together to decorate your backyard or hang inside.
Go on a neighborhood walk/nature walk and keep track of all the animals/birds.
Host a BBQ or set up a lemonade stand.
Visit a Saskatchewan library that you have never been to before.
Go on a camping trip, even in your backyard!
Create a board game and play it together.
Write a story of your summer adventures as a family.
Ride a rollercoaster/ fair ride or waterslide.
Go for a family bike ride.
Take a picture in front of a giant landmark/roadside monument.
Roast marshmallows over a campfire or fire pit.
Visit the Martensville Library and check out a book or participate in a program.
Play with bubbles or create masterpiece with sidewalk chalk.
Visit the Martensville Aquatic Centre or spray park.
Work & complete on a puzzle together as a family.
Have a family board game night.

Summer Reading Club
across Canada. Get wild at
your Library this summer
with the TD Summer
Reading Club for kids 12
& under. Help your kids
maintain their reading skills
over the summer. There are
lots of fun drop-in activities
for all ages. Register
anytime during the summer.
Kids can track their reading
minutes, and do drop-in
weekly crafts along with
three I-Spy Games. Plus
they can win prizes!
The Summer Fun Family
Scavenger Hunt will run all
summer. It will be a list of fun
activities to keep families
busy
during
summer.
Complete the tasks to enter
prize draws. Marla said,
“We did a winter scavenger
hunt with Christmas lights
and that was a lot of fun so
we wanted to do it again for
the summer. There is a big
list of activities.”
Sing With Sylvia will take
place on July 11th at 10:00
am. Marla said, “She’s got

a lot of energy and really
engages with the kids. It’s
a free performance so you
can just come and hang
out and sing and dance. If
the weather is great we are
hoping to have the show out
in the park area.”
Check out the Wild
Imaginations Kidz Cub for
ages 8 – 12 on Tuesdays
from 4:30—5:30 PM.
Drop in and participate
in different fun activities
each week like Lego
Build Challenges, Science
Activities, and Special
Crafts. WIKC will be every
Tuesday starting July 5th
until August 23. Marla
explained, “The challenges
will change every week and
it will be a surprise.”
Wheatland Teen InstaChallenge is for teens 13
to 18 with a Wheatland
Library Card. Follow @
Wheatland_Teen
and
complete
the
weekly
challenge. Up-load your
photo to Instagram and you
could win a prize or an entry
for the grand prize draw.
Drop by the library for
instructions & challenges.
Marla explained, “Every
week there will be a new
challenge and once they’ve
done that challenge their
name will go in a draw.
Some of the challenges
aren’t reading based. They
might be to take a picture
in front of a bookshelf.”
The Library will also be
featuring a Grown Up
Reading Challenge. Pick
up a list from the library.
Read 3 books from the
list and return the card for
a chance to win the grand
prize.

Regional Library and create
your very own picture book
or poem using professional
artwork.
Summer Story Time will
be on Wednesdays at
10:15am.
Story Time
starts July 6th and will go
until August 24th.
