On Your Mark
All 3 schools have been training and competing these past 2 weeks at the annual Conference and District meets at Griffiths Stadium . Venture Heights sent 44 athletes to Districts while Valley Manor had 32 participating . May 18 was the conference A meet and May 27 was the District final for CVAC ( Central Valley Athletic Conference ).
Dylan Mitchener from VHS won the bantam boys high jump while Brodie Yuzik won the bantam girls hurdles . Jessica Warren , Rebecca Sochaski , Isabella L ’ Heureux , and Brodie Yuzik won the bantam girls relay .
Jodi Bouvier set a Midget Girls shot put record at the Conference Meet on May 18 . MHS is sending 4 athletes to provincials on Saturday . Logan Heck placed 4th the senior boys 1500m , Mason Sader placed second in senior boys high jump , and Dylan Gutek placed second while Morgan Fournier placed third in the Quadathlon . All four of those boys will be travelling to Regina for provincials this weekend .

Martensville U8 Soccer Team Is Undefeated

The Martensville U8 soccer team took to the field May 28th - 29th in the Rosthern tournament . Zac Cross , 15 , with no soccer team for him to play on in Martensville this season , took it upon himself to take a Soccer Coaching Clinic and is coaching the U8 team and Assistant Coaching a U14 team . He really loves it and is so proud of his young team ' s soccer ability . The Martensville France is the name that was given to them . The U8 team is undefeated so far and recently won the U8 Soccer Tournament in Rosthern on the weekend . Zac is a dedicated 15 year old and gives his time to put so much work into helping young kids . He puts on extra practices for the players and even brings them healthy treats . The team and community are lucky to have a role model like Zac .
