Halloween Disco !

Written by Abbie McGowan , S6
As leaves turn orange and the wind gets colder , it makes everyone aware autumn has definitely arrived which only means one thing , Halloween ! After 3 years Marr College is finally bringing the Halloween Disco back for first and sixth years . At 6pm – 8pm on Thursday the 27th of October the Assembly Hall will be filled with snacks and scary costumes , with many activities to fill the two hours .
Both first and sixth years are encouraged to bring in old and outgrown Halloween costumes instead of them collecting dust in a wardrobe . Costumes will be collected in the glass rooms next to the office by our senior pupils . We hope that these costumes will get to be enjoyed by some else .
This event will be in aid of the South Ayrshire Food Bank , that provides food and support to local people in crisis . With over 220,000 people in the UK using food banks they need the public ' s help more than ever . Marr College have recognised this and decided to help out by asking S1 & S6 pupils to pay for their Halloween Disco ticket with food products the food bank can take in . Instead of paying £ 2 for a ticket , each person will decide on the product they donate during their personal support class , where they will pick from a list of donations .
First years will be able to get their hands on a ticket from the 10th to 14th of October in personal support every morning . Our sixth-year pupils will come to each house class allowing the S1 ' s to hand in their donations in return for a ticket . If your child wasn ' t able to get a ticket during this time period a last-minute ticket booth will open up next to the office during lunch time starting Tuesday 25th and closing Wednesday 26th , the day before the disco . We look forward to seeing you there !
