The Business Education Department were blown away by the standard of the Apprentice Challenge presentations this year.
Last term, S2 students, worked in groups to participate in one of the challenges from the popular BBC show. They were tasked with creating a design for a toothbrush and app for young children aged 6-8 years old. They planned a business pitch that they presented to the class. The standard was high this year with steep competition, so well done to everyone, especially the winners from each class who received an Easter egg as a prize.

Pupils from Higher Business Management took part in a hands-on activity where they designed, constructed and flew paper helicopters, focusing on current learning within the Operations unit. They were allocated to three groups, each representing a specific method of production, and were challenged to complete the task within 20 minutes.
The activity was highly engaging, and pupils clearly enjoyed the practical nature of the lesson. Feedback highlighted that they developed a deeper understanding of job, batch and flow production, as well as the differences between each method, evident from the number of smiles across the walkway as their helicopters took flight.
