S1/S2 STEM Roadshow Visit - September S1 and S2 pupils were treated to an exciting show from the BAE Systems Roadshow Team in our Assembly Hall. The theme was “Are we connected?” and focused on how much technology has advanced to provide us with the ability to communicate with anyone across the world. Through demonstrations, they explained how mobile phones connect people around the world, how computers talk to each other and how we talk to our devices via Bluetooth. The presenters also showcased some of the exciting and rewarding careers Maths Week Scotland Students from all year groups took part in Maths Week Scotland, competing for house points and to make it on to the Maths leader board. Students competed in several activities including an S1 Treasure Hunt, an S2 Relay Race and an S3 Team Challenge. Well done to the winners: 5 that studying STEM subjects can provide and celebrated positive female role models. The pupils were fully engaged and keen to volunteer for the activities – the Roadshow Team fed back that they were enthusiastic, well- behaved and a credit to Marr College.
