Butterfly Trust
In October our S6
student
leadership
group organised a
dress
down
day
raising £590 for the
Butterfly Trust who
offer
help
and
support to people
with Cystic Fibrosis
across Scotland. The
group also organised
a bake sale to
support
the
Marr
Malawi
Partnership
which managed to
raise £158.85. Thank
you
to
all
who
organised, donated
and who handed in
baked
goods
for
sale.
S1/S2 STEM
Roadshow Visit -
September
S1 and S2 pupils were
treated to an exciting
show from the BAE
Systems
Roadshow
Team in our Assembly
Hall. The theme was
“Are
we
connected?”
and
focused
on
how
much technology has
advanced to provide
us with the ability to
communicate
with
anyone across the
world.
Through
demonstrations, they
explained
how
mobile
phones
connect
people
around the world,
how computers talk
to each other and
how we talk to our
devices via Bluetooth.
The presenters also
showcased some of
the
exciting
and
rewarding
careers
Maths Week Scotland
Students from all year groups took part in Maths
Week Scotland, competing for house points and to
make it on to the Maths leader board. Students
competed in several activities including an S1
Treasure Hunt, an S2 Relay Race and an S3 Team
Challenge. Well done to the winners:

to volunteer for the

Roadshow Team fed
back that they were
enthusiastic,
well-
behaved
and
a
credit
to
Marr
College.
