Prestwick Question Time
Senior Modern Studies pupils were invited to attend the first post-pandemic Question Time event at Prestwick Academy on Monday . Representatives from each of the major parties in Scotland were in attendance , including Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar .
One pupil from each South Ayrshire school invited were given a question to ask , with topics including if there should be another Independence Referendum ( unsurprisingly , that was the question we stayed on for the longest !), is enough being done to tackle climate change , and has Brexit had a single positive impact on the current pupil generation ( the unanimous answer was no !). Chloe Hollinsworth was the Marr College pupil selected to ask a question – ‘ is it time for drugs to be decriminalised due to the significant number of drugs-related deaths in Scotland ?’
All pupils voiced that they were glad they got to come along and that they had thoroughly enjoyed the experience .
