Our S3 Social Enterprise class undertook a number of activities this term to raise funds for Tsukure Hub CIC in Ayr . We began in November by collecting donations of sweets and chocolate from the staff and students at Marr College – we were overwhelmed with everyone ’ s generosity and were able to create four luxury sweet hampers to be raffled !
The students then created and hosted their very own virtual quiz which took place on 9 December 2021 , this was Marr College ’ s first virtual Christmas quiz and it was such a hit that it ’ s sure to be an annual event from now on ! The winning group ( Four Seasons ) was made up of S2 Darley students who took away a large sweet hamper , a £ 10 donation to a charity of their choice ( Diabetes UK ) and 500 house points for Darley !
During November and December , the group have also been lucky enough to work with Mr Hamilton from our D & T department to create personalised wooden Christmas decorations – over 50 of these have been sold ! In total the group had a net profit of over £ 150 which will be used to purchase equipment for Tsukure Studios . For more information about Tsukure click here :
