Congratulations National Champions !
The Business Department want to say congratulations to our # Digi- Inventors Challenge team , You Wish We Assist , who made it through to the international final of the competition this month and then went on to win the competition ! This makes Marr College the only school in the history of the competition to have won twice .
The competition is run by the DHI in collaboration with Glasgow Warriors . Students work in teams to create an innovative digital product that aims to help improve either the mental of physical well-being of young people in Scotland . The team created an app that aims to support students suffering from anxiety and depression by linking people to expert help and advice and includes an emergency link to a key contact .
The team , along with Miss Wyllie , were invited to take part in a 2-day international Bootcamp which was run virtually via Microsoft Teams . They participated alongside schools from Scotland ( Merchiston Castle School and Bertha Park High School ) and schools from across Dubai .
The team worked with industry experts - taking part in several workshops aimed to help develop their
entrepreneurial skills , presentation technique and marketing knowledge . Some of the experts included : DHI , the Scottish Tech Army , Scottish Edge , Herriot-Watt Dubai and TedX .
For reaching the final the team received a bag of goodies including wireless headphones , chargers , notebooks , flasks and also a certificate and Divoom Pixel Art frame each .
The team used this knowledge to help improve their final business plan . They presented their final pitch to a panel of expert judges .
