You might have heard about Foundation Apprenticeships , but how much do you know about them ?
1 . It ' s a new way of learning
Foundation Apprenticeships are available as one of your subject choices in S4-S6 . Foundation Apprenticeships are available at SCQF Level 4 , 5 or 6 which is the same as a National 4 , National 5 or Higher .
2 . You ' ll study along with your other subjects
It ’ s an integrated part of your school timetable , and so fits alongside your other subject choices . You ' ll work towards your qualification supported by a learning provider , and spend time gaining industry knowledge and experience through a series of practical activities such as industry projects or placements undertaken virtually or in person .
3 . You ' ll get a qualification , the same level as a National 4 , National 5 or Higher
You ' ll work towards a qualification which is the same level as a National 4 ( SCQF Level 4 ), National 5 ( SCQF Level 5 ) or Higher ( SCQF Level 6 ), and is part of your pathway to university , college , a Modern or Graduate Apprenticeship , or straight to work .
4 . It ' s a unique chance to get a taste of the world of work
When you ' re at school , it can be hard to imagine what working life is really like . Whether you ' re sure of what you want to do , or you have no idea , a Foundation Apprenticeship gives you the chance to find out about the world of work and try out an industry . With 15 subjects available , ranging from Creative and Digital Media to Engineering , there ' s something to suit every interest .
5 . You ' ll get a head start in your career
