Issue Number 15 | April 2022
We are delighted to have Eva Mackinnon ( S3 ) join the School Student News Team this year – she came up with the great idea of interviewing members of the Marr College staff to help students get to know their teachers better . She thought this would be especially helpful for new members of staff .
Introducing Miss Barlow !
1 . How did you get into teaching ?
I love learning ! I had planned to become a nurse when I left school , but I realised that wasn ’ t for me . When I went to university , I didn ’ t really have an end goal , but I spent a few years tutoring , and got my first experience of teaching . I loved it , so I decided that I would combine my passion for learning and Computing and become a Computing teacher .
The friendly staff – I have been made to feel welcome from the first time I stepped foot in the school .
4 . What do you like to do in your spare time ?
I enjoy playing video games , and spending time with my friends . I started to get in to travelling before COVID , so hope to do more of that this year .
2 . What do you like best about your subject ?
Every challenge is a new learning experience . Computing is constantly changing , so there ’ s always something new to learn , or a new way to do something . Technology is on the rise , and I feel privileged to teach a subject that will have such a huge impact on our future .
3 . What is your favourite thing about working in Marr College ?
