Thanks for the insight, Jack.
In the last 2 days, I’ve picked up a few things about the local climate
around your program pillars through WURD. I’ve still got to map out
voting, education, and employment issues relating to AfricanAmerican men, preferably between the ages of 35-54. I’m sure the
City of Philly is collecting data on this demo. We just have to find the
sources of the data.
If you have that information, it’ll make your job a whole helluva lot
easier if you eventually want to pursue public-partnerships. Because
you can, then, extrapolate that data onto the targets of your
engagement. The City of New York’s Department of Finance, for
example, has a wealth of information that is used city-wide. Maybe
residential tax data in Philly gives you a heads up on at-risk
households by zip code.
We should definitely keep in touch, Jack. I’m at 862.224.1086.
Stay Tuned,
Robert
(Editor’s Note: Jack informed me that the City of Philadelphia has a number of initiatives
surrounding local engagement. One of the keys is to tie programmatic change through the
national My Brother’s Keeper campaign.)
