Most of the time when we think Pinterest we think of cute fall decorations, delicious recipes that never quite turn out how they look on that blog, and cleaning tips. While many of us have used Pinterest for inspiration for our homes, there’s a whole other side to the popular social scrapbooking site. Thousands of teachers from around the world use the site to share and gather ideas for their classrooms. Whether it be classroom management ideas, lesson plans, brain breaks, or even classroom arrangements, you can find it all on Pinterest. What’s even better about Pinterest as a form of Professional Development is that you get to choose what you want to read, who you want to follow, and what you want to save. It truly is PD that’s all about YOU! While you may not get DMA credit for scrolling through ideas while in your PJs on Saturday morning, your students will be reaping the benefits of fresh ideas and new takes on old lessons. I’ve put together a list of some great people to follow on Pinterest, so whether you’ve been pinning for years or are just now signing up, I’m sure you’ll find some inspiration in just a few clicks!
