Justin says they wouldn’t be surprised if a few of their
old Christchurch friends and fans make their way up to
Marlborough for the Ocean Vine Hop.
“We’ve never played in Marlborough, but have spent a lot of
time in the Sounds and are looking forward to catching up
with friends and getting our hands on some of that amazing
wine, beer and seafood that’s there.”
Indeed, in true Marlborough fashion, some of the region’s
best seafood and produce will be featured in delicious
dishes prepared by some of our local culinary stars alongside
celebrity chefs Karena and Kasey Bird and Jax Hamilton.
And no Marlborough celebration would be complete without
some of the stellar wine, beer and cider that this marvellous
region produces.
Last year the legendary Jordan Luck Trio and local singer
songwriter Chloe Vitale were huge hits at the inaugural
Ocean Vine Hop. They had such a great time they will both
be back, including the whole Jordan Luck Band, bigger, better
and louder, to join the fun and help get the party started at
this year’s event.

But back to the Automatic 80s. Pearl and Justin will be
joined onstage by lead guitarist and vocalist Danny McCrum,
who has worked alongside Eric Clapton, Bryan Ferry, John
Mayer and Simple Minds; Clint Harris who is the bassist
for Opshop and The Feelers; and Jayden Lee who is the
drummer for Alae. imagine never having to do any of this ever again!
All in all, the band has some huge musical chops and the
crowd can expect to be blown away. NITE SPA
“We’re a very tech-driven band with a massive sound, so
many layers,” Justin says.
“One of the things we strive for is to sound live like the
record does. It’s not our interpretation of the music - we
want people to hear that sound they remember listening to
on their records back in the day and be transported back to
those heady days of their youth.”
It’s all very well to read all about it, but the only way to make
the most of the hi calibre entertainment promised, is to
