3 EASY STEPS FOR
WINTER MOTIVATION
1. Plan Your Perfect Life
What would your life look like if you
had absolutely no restrictions? Now
plan the first few steps to take you
there. Schedule these first steps over
the next few weeks, including one
TODAY – Get Excited!!
2. Focus On 3 Projects
Choose three most important things
you would like to do and focus on
them exclusively. Focus on getting
them completed, to the exclusion
of all other things. Discipline yourself
to not look at your emails or social
media each morning before you have
applied yourself to at least one task
that is very important to getting these
projects done. Keep the focus and take
action. DISCIPLINE gives you back
more time in your life to do the
things you love.
3. Think About The Benefits,
Not The Difficulties
Instead of thinking about how hard
something is, think about what you
will get out of it, focus on how good
you will feel when you have achieved
it, see how happy you will be. The
benefits of why you are doing it will
help energise you and propel you
forward. Set yourself up to win with
great systems and structure and make
yourself answerable and accountable
to the goals you have set. Take daily
action otherwise your goals are just
words on paper.

This month we
hit mid-winter...
what does
Winter
mean to you?
Is it a dark, dreary, depressing gloomy
season...or is it an opportunity to
do things differently from previous
seasons? even more fun by teaming up with
a friend. Learn to think differently,
break some rules, push your limits
and never, ever give up!
I believe it is the latter, as every season
has something great and unique to
offer - do the seasonal things that are
happening right now, and enjoy winter. The responsibility for the life you have
and how you live it is totally in your
hands. Take some action towards
getting your ideal life - it could be as
simple as picking up the phone and
booking in for those classes you have
always wanted to take... music, art.
Or maybe it's joining the gym, going
to a therapist or counsellor, getting a
coach to help you make the changes
you want, or maybe you need help
to start that business you've always
dreamed of.
It also brings you to the halfway mark
of the year. How are those New Year's
resolutions or goals you set going?
Approximately 85% of people who set
New Year’s resolutions or goals never
achieve them. Now that the days are
shorter, make the most of this extra
time you are spending inside and work
on your goals, so you can be one of the
15% who do achieve them.
Instead of going into hibernation and
hiding away in your comfy clothes, set
a challenge for yourself; get out there
and do something new, and make it
The most important friend in your
life is yourself, so take the time to
give to YOU. Booking a session with
a coach is giving to yourself, investing
in yourself and your growth, by being
your best friend.
Personal development is a major
time-saver; the better you become,
the less time it takes to achieve your
goals. Personal development is
having the belief that you are worth
it. The more you learn and achieve,
the happier your life will be, which
results in you having more to give to
all those around you.
To excel at and achieve
your goals takes a mindset
that believes that you will,
and knows that you can.
Keep motivated over winter;
Marlborough has so much to offer
and lots you can do with a friend,
like great walking and cycling tracks
around the river, or my favourite track
from the Grove Road bridge out to
Spring Creek. There are no excuses; you
don’t have to worry about the traffic
with these awesome cycling tracks.
Walk the Wither Hills - it's so good
for your soul and the spectacular
sight leaves you in awe of nature's
beauty. We live in a stunning paradise,
something to be really grateful for,
and something very special to share
with friends.
Want to stay indoors? Head to
Stadium 2000 for an invigorating
workout or a swim, sauna, steam
room, or spa... heaven. Finish with
a coffee, smoothie or bite to eat.
You could then nip across the car
park and take in a movie, visit the
library or aviation centre... no need
for winter boredom.
Think differently. Instead of
thinking, “I hate the cold, it makes
me feel so unmotivated.” Change
this to, “I love the crisp, freshness
of the winter chill biting at my ears
and nose, making me feel invigorated
and alive!”
