L.O.V.E Lo BY ASHTANGA YOGA TEACHER NADINE HICKMAN It Includes You Too! Is 2018 the year you shift your thinking about what it means to prioritise yourself and make time for regular self care? A magazine with the theme of ‘Love’ would not be complete if it didn’t include love for yourself. Too often we place ourselves at the bottom of a long list of other people and responsibilities, even though year after year we make a pact to take more time for ourselves and to do all of the wonderful self care things like eat healthier, exercise more, have a massage, coffee with friends, meditate, think more positively… and then December rolls around again and… what happened? For me Yoga, in particular Ashtanga Yoga, ticks all the boxes for taking care of my physical and mental wellbeing. It’s the complete package! And being a busy Mum, it’s something I can easily fit in around all of the demands on my time. There are many variations of Surya Namaskar. Pictured is the Ashtanga Yoga Surya Namaskar A sequence. To learn this Create Your Own 'My Yoga Den' I’d like to encourage you to create your very own “My Yoga Den” in your home. All you need is a Yoga mat and the willingness to take the time to do something that makes you feel good… an act of self love. How To Get Started: Attend Yoga classes - it’s a must for learning to safely perform the postures, as well as a source of inspiration. Once you learn the basics, fostering a regular at-home practice is where you will really experience the benefits. This year I’m excited to be teaching short courses in Ashtanga Yoga. I want to help others fall in love with this wonderful practice and JOIN ME FOR MY FIRST COURSE OF 2018 AND DISCOVER FOR YOURSELF HOW MUCH
