GARDEN
leave a small gap immediately around the trunks of trees and shrubs. Direct contact with mulch can encourage rot.
FEED ME, SEYMOUR
Most plants appreciate some extra nutrition, but more fertiliser isn’ t automatically better. Good soil remains the foundation of a healthy garden, so continue adding organic matter such as compost where possible. Reserve more targeted feeding for the hungrier members of the garden, such as annual flowers, roses, vegetables and turf.
