Start simple
If the idea of growing herbs and spices as a brand-new or side business appeals to you , best would be to do thorough research and decide on just two or three herbs and / or spices to start with . You can then decide through experimentation what to add , remove and focus on . This way , you are not buying too many different types of feed , with many different watering , soil or system requirements . Start specific , and then gradually branch out as your knowledge and expertise grows , and your market ’ s needs become clearer .
Processing and packaging
Depending on your resources , interests and the herbs and spices you choose to grow , you could sell fresh herbs only , or you could process your produce for selling .
