Brahmans built for a tougher veld
“ Currently, the farm itself is about 200 ha, but we lease additional land with it. We mainly farm with beef, goats and sheep. We have about 1 500 Brahmans, which we keep for meat production. They fare well in this area, which is rather different from the other side of Mooi River.
“ You also cannot have British breeds here because of diseases like tick fever and rooiwater. The Brahmans are much more tick-resistant. We buy bulls from auctions to improve the genetics of the herd, and we prefer to buy from the Hartswater area in the North West. They are more resistant
