“ I bought my first ram there for about R2 500 and started the flock with him. The second one I bought from a stud in Postmasburg. The market liked the sheep, especially in winter when they carried good condition, but in summer they were too fat. I liked the white Dorper, but if the rams were too big, the ewes struggled at lambing and many lambs were underdeveloped.
“ A friend advised me to acquire Meatmaster sheep. One of my uncles brought his Meatmaster ram here, but he fought with my ram and broke his back. Now I use his ram for the season to cover my white Dorpers. The Meatmaster – white
