Since 1981, Sannitree ® International has focused on one core mission: effective cleaning and waste treatment that does not harm people, animals or the environment. Founded by Mike Mayne, the company began by addressing a practical need in rural areas, farms and settlement camps: affordable sewage treatment using bio-enzyme and microbial technology. Together with enzymologist Dr DG Celliers, Sannitree developed its first microbial product, Sannitree ® Bio-Enzymes, and built a reputation for reliable organic waste breakdown.
Over more than 40 years, Sannitree has developed over 15 niche solutions, including products for septic tanks, grease traps, odour digestion, and even a specialised powder to reduce harmful ammonia gas in pig housing. The business remains family-led, now represented internationally through subsidiaries and agencies, with continued investment in enzymology research and product development.
