This past holiday season , Westfield Vélizy 2 supported LIFEAZ in its mission to use gaming to teach people life-saving skills .
Gamers who spend a lot of their leisure time playing Everyday Heroes can feel good about indulging their habit because the skills they ' re learning could turn out to be a saving grace for others . Imagined by LIFEAZ , a manufacturer of defibrillators for home use , and in collaboration with the Paris Firefighters Brigade ( BSPP ), the collection teaches users life-saving skills such as CPR through 100 + online games , with new activities added every week . Playing as little as five minutes a day , the creators say , is enough to absorb a lot of the content , then test and re-test oneself until the lifesaving decisions and moves become reflexes , so the management team at Westfield Vélizy 2 ( Vélizy- Villacoublay , France ) recently offered its shoppers some encouragement .
From November 27 through Christmas Eve , the center hosted an Everyday Heroes contest in which participants who registered on EverydayHeroes . fr played the app-based game and tried to get as far as possible to win € 100 ( US $ 113 ) gift cards , prizes that Esprit and other tenants donated . And there was an added twist to help spread the word . If two players reached the same level , the one who had helped to train the highest number of Everyday Heroes by inviting their friends to sign up won the prize .
Beyond playing the learning game , LIFEAZ hopes that many people will further their training through in-person and hands-on sessions , as well as full CPR and first-air certification programs in their communities .
