NEED A
LYFT?
USE THE
BEVERLY
CODE
Shoppers are used to entering promotional codes
on their favorite retailers’ websites and apps to
activate deals on fashions and other goods. Now
they can do the same to get discounts on Lyft car
rides in more than 60 cities across the United
States. Beverly Center in LA is one shopping
center taking advantage of the car-sharing
service and offering its customers $20 off their
first ride.
The service works in three steps:
1. After registering with a mobile phone number
and credit card, you can request a ride on the
Lyft app and get matched with a backgroundchecked driver.
2. Track the driver’s ETA and see his/her rating,
as well as a photograph, so you know who to
expect and when.
3. Pay for the ride from your phone using the
BEVERLY promotional code, add a tip if you
wish, and fill out a review.
Shoppers who don’t have a vehicle and are laden
with parcels can find a ride home from the
center’s dedicated Lyft Zone, just steps from its
Grand Valet, while the drivers are able to make
a little extra cash.
A few more things to know about Lyft:
premium pricing is in effect during peak hours,
the company drops all drivers whose rating is
below 4.5 out of five stars, and there are options
for passengers who want to share rides or book
some for groups. Lyft has a business program
as well for organizations (including malls) that
want to register for an account and offer rides
to employees for daily commuting, business
travel, as a supplement to public transit, or for
late-night rides after special events.
