MEET Mark Slimack
Born and raised in upstate New York, Mark’s parents decided Fort
Lauderdale, Florida was THE place to be, so they up and moved here in
1969. Mark was 15 years old at the time, and never having spent much
time in or on the ocean, Mark was lucky enough to be invited by a new
found friend to spend most of his first summer here aboard their yacht
cruising the Bahamas.
It was a life changing event to say the least! Mark has lived in South
Florida ever since. He purchased the first of many boats in 1979 and
has been serving the boating community in all manner of new boat and
brokerage yacht sales since early 1983.
Mark spent almost 14 years with Marine Max, where he gained exposure
to a variety of brands including Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Ferretti and
Hatteras. In between, he spent two years working with an importer of
offshore yachts.
Later in his career, he formed his own yacht brokerage, Champion Yachts,
which he spearheaded for almost 9 years before deciding to become
part of the team at Denison.
Mark is married to his college sweetheart, has one daughter, Donica,
and two grandchildren - Bronson and Riley Ann. He also loves to scuba
and play guitar.
