MEET Jay Rhoades
Jay was brought up in Richmond, Virginia, spending most summers cruising
and fishing on the lower Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Beach. He received
a business degree from Tulane University in 1975 and enjoyed a successful
20-year career in the apparel industry in Virginia and New York. In 1995 he
relocated to South Florida, joining the team at Gilman Yachts as a broker. His
first listing and sale was an 86’ Burger (no one told him that’s not supposed to
happen).
Since then, Jay has traveled practically around the world to provide his clients
the expertise and product knowledge essential to making informed, “market
wise” decisions. That, coupled with his dedication to service before and after
the sale, has brought Jay unparalleled success and referrals.
From 1999 thru 2008, Jay was the leading new yacht salesman in the United
States for Horizon Yachts. During that time he made numerous trips to the
Horizon shipyard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, overseeing various custom projects
from 70’ to 130’.
Most recently, Jay has joined the team at Denison Yacht Sales in their new
location at Soverel Harbour Marina in Palm Beach Gardens. Denison is one
of the fastest growing yacht sales organizations in the world, providing their
clients 21st century marketing strategies unmatched in the yachting industry.
