MEET Garret Alme ida Garret’s passion for the boating lifestyle has evolved from the early days of sailing and fishing to spending nights at the local sandbar or cruising the island chains of the Bahamas. Garret’s first boating adventure was in his grandfather’s 12’ skiff fishing for tautog off Fog Land on the Sakonnet River in Tiverton, Rhode Island. “My first true love in boating was while sailing in Newburyport, Massachusetts,” Garret says. “The tides and currents of the Merrimac River will quickly teach you the proper fear and respect for Mother Nature and her ways.” Garret started in the marine industry in 1979 as a service tech and then service manager for a large dealership in Marblehead, Mass. By the early ‘90s, Garret was running a power and sailboat dealership with offices in Portsmouth and East Greenwich, RI. These experiences provided a practical base of knowledge that can save a boater tremendous aggravation and expense that can - so often - ruin the boat buying and selling experience. Garret can, and will, anticipate and plan for all the complications and pitfalls that trip up boaters as they navigate their way through the boat purchase and sale experience.
