MEET Cynthia Wummer
Cynthia was literally thrown into the world of sailing at the ripe age of 4. Her father
intentionally flipped their Sunfish and forced her to right it herself. By the age of 10,
she was a very busy sailing instructor teaching grownups how to sail at the Jersey
Shore.
Cynthia moved from Philadelphia to Florida in her 20s, where she continued to apply
her marketing and management degrees working for several national advertising
agencies.
But living so close to the water, Cynthia was drawn back to sailing, so she joined
SAIL Magazine, where she worked in sales for a dozen years, servicing Beneteau
USA, Hunter Sailboats, Catalina, Bavaria USA, and several other sailboat builders
based in the Southeast U.S. While working as sales manager, she learned firsthand
how Beneteau sailboats are built, touring both manufacturing plants in the U.S. and
France. Cynthia gained tremendous experience with the Beneteau brand and always
dreamed of one day buying her own dream boat, a Sense 55.
Cynthia just returned from a 15-month hiatus working and living on a Swan 68 in
the Caribbean and Newport in the summer. Her onboard living experience has given
Cynthia first-hand knowledge of boat systems, electronics, gear, outfitting, and
overall care for a large sailboat.
Cynthia eventually realized she missed land-based life and moved back to her home
in Fort Lauderdale, where she combined her extensive sailing experience with her
sales experience and became the most recent addition to the Denison Yacht Sales
team. Cynthia is excited to be a part of the crew at Denison Yacht Sales.
